The Matagorda Heritage Society will host Matagorda Heritage Day on October 10, 2009. They are looking for vendors/exhibitors. The booths will be free and the proceeds will go to each vendor. See Events and go to 1 May 09.
It's beautiful here in Matagorda. We finally had a good rain and that brought out those mosquitoes. You know there are only two types of mosquitoes here in Matagorda. We have those that are small enough to go through the screen door and those that are large enough to open the screened door.
The bridge is coming along. The span is closed. It will seem strange to no longer have the draw bridge. The Corp of Engineers is working on the locks and opening only twice a day. Those who fish West Matagorda Bay have really been limited to access times.
